SMALL FIXES. BACK TO WORK.
POWERPOINT SPEAKER NOTES / FREE BROWSER TOOL

Compare PowerPoint speaker notes.
See what needs rerecording.

Load two versions of a PPTX and see every word that changed in the speaker notes, even when slides were moved or inserted. Decide what to record, then take a checklist and the full script with you. Or extract all notes from a single deck.

01 / INPUT

Bring the deck.

Choose two versions to compare, or one deck to export and inspect its notes.

FIRST TIME?

Practice with two fictional decks, then follow the step-by-step guide.

PPTX only · up to 30 MB and 500 slides per deck · the example uses fictional content.

Decide what changed, then what to do.

01

Check the page pairing.

Inserted and moved slides can confuse an automatic match. Review pages marked uncertain and choose the correct earlier slide.

02

Mark each decision.

Changed words do not always require a new recording. Mark Skip, Record or Done. The original text stays visible.

03

Export your next steps.

Take a local HTML checklist, the full updated script for marked slides, or a saved project you can reopen.

When this tool helps

Rerecording a narrated course or video

A training deck was updated after the voice-over was recorded. Instead of rereading every slide, see which notes changed, mark only those slides Record and read from the updated script.

Checking a revised presentation

A colleague edited the deck and its notes. Review each change word by word before presenting, and catch slides where the visible text changed but the notes still describe the old version.

Finding outdated wording

A price, product name or delivery time changed. List the old terms and every slide whose notes still mention them is flagged.

Extracting all speaker notes

Need the notes as plain text for a script, a translator or a reviewer? One-deck mode exports every slide's notes in order, with slide numbers and titles.

Speaker notes questions, answered.

How do I compare speaker notes between two PowerPoint files?

Choose Compare two versions, select the earlier PPTX and the updated PPTX, and click Read speaker notes. Each updated slide is paired with its earlier slide and the notes are shown with removed words struck through in red and added words in green. Slides whose pairing is uncertain are flagged for you to confirm.

What if slides were moved, inserted or deleted?

Slides with identical content are matched automatically even if they moved. Pairings guessed from a title or position are marked Check page match, and you can choose the right earlier slide or mark a slide as new. Earlier slides with no match are counted and listed in the HTML checklist.

Can I extract speaker notes from one PPTX to text?

Yes. Choose One deck, select the file and click Read speaker notes. Download all notes gives a plain-text file with every slide's number, title and notes in order. You can also copy the notes of any single slide.

Does a change in the notes always mean rerecording?

No. A typo fix or punctuation change may not need a new recording. Every slide gets a decision you set: To review, No rerecording, Record or Done. Only slides marked Record go into the recording script and reading mode.

Are my presentations uploaded?

No. The PPTX files are read inside your browser tab. This page loads no analytics, ads or AI service, and its security policy blocks network connections from the page. Nothing is stored unless you download a file yourself.

Does it work with Google Slides, Keynote or .ppt files?

The tool reads standard .pptx files. Download a Google Slides presentation as Microsoft PowerPoint (.pptx), export a Keynote presentation to PowerPoint, or save an older .ppt file as .pptx first. Encrypted or password-protected files are not supported.

Does it work with notes in Chinese or other languages?

Yes. Notes are compared as Unicode text, so changes in Chinese, Japanese and other scripts, including full-width punctuation, are highlighted the same way. The reading-time estimate counts non-space characters at the speed you enter.

What is not compared?

Only speaker notes from the standard notes area are compared. Slide text is used to match slides and to find old terms. Text inside images, charts, audio, animation, comments and formatting is not read, and the original PPTX is never changed.

Learn it with a practice run.

Download two small fictional training decks and the illustrated guide. Load v1 as the earlier PPTX and v2 as the updated PPTX, then follow along: every button on this page is shown and explained.

PRACTICE

Two versions of a training deck

v1 has 5 slides; v2 has 7, with edited notes, a new slide, a moved slide, an empty note and a repeated note.

Private by design.

PPTX reading, matching, checking and export run in your browser tab. This page does not load analytics, ads or an AI service, and does not store deck content in localStorage or IndexedDB. A project file you choose to download contains extracted slide text, speaker notes, matches and statuses; keep it wherever you keep the presentation.

Text from images, charts, audio, animation and slide visuals is not compared. Speaker notes are extracted from standard PPTX notes placeholders. Unusual or password-protected files may need another workflow. Your browser may retain downloads and the host may log page requests; deck contents are not sent by this tool.
