About UnjamKit.
Small fixes, done in your browser.
UnjamKit is a free collection of single-purpose browser tools for everyday office snags: text copied from a PDF, a photo over a form’s size limit, an iPhone photo a PC won’t open, a CSV that loses its leading zeros, two lists to compare, speaker notes that changed between versions. It is an independent project. There are no accounts or subscriptions, and your files are processed on your own device.
The tools
- Clean Copy: remove line breaks from text copied out of a PDF
- Image Fit: compress an image or PDF to a KB limit
- PDF Stack: merge PDFs and reorder, rotate or extract pages
- List Match: compare two lists and find missing items
- CSV to Excel: convert a CSV to Excel without losing leading zeros
- PPT Notes Compare: compare PowerPoint speaker notes between versions
- HEIC Convert: convert iPhone HEIC photos to JPG or PDF
- Batch Rename: rename many files with numbers or an Excel list and download a ZIP
- JustMakeQR: make a static QR code
- Wi-Fi Share: make a Wi-Fi QR code for guests
Each tool page states what the tool does not do, such as OCR, encrypted PDFs or fuzzy matching, so you can tell quickly whether it fits your task.
How the tools work
UnjamKit is a static website. Each tool is a page of HTML and JavaScript that runs in your browser tab. When you choose a file, the browser reads it locally and the page processes it on your device; the result is created in the tab and saved through your browser’s normal download.
The libraries that do the heavy lifting are served from unjamkit.com itself, not from third-party CDNs: pdf-lib and Mozilla’s PDF.js for PDFs, libheif (WebAssembly) for HEIC photos, SheetJS and Papa Parse for CSV and Excel, and QRCode.js for QR codes.
How to check that your files stay on your device
- Open a tool page and your browser’s developer tools (F12 on Windows, Cmd + Option + I on a Mac), then select the Network tab.
- Use the tool with a file. You will see the page’s own scripts and styles and, on most pages, a visit-statistics request, but no request that carries your file.
The CSV to Excel, HEIC Convert, PPT Notes Compare and Batch Rename pages also declare a Content Security Policy with connect-src 'none', which tells the browser to block every network connection from the page’s scripts. The full source code is public on GitHub.
What the site does collect
UnjamKit uses Google Analytics for basic visit statistics: pages visited, traffic sources and device or browser types. It never receives your files, file names, pasted text, lists, QR content or Wi-Fi passwords. Messages sent through the contact form go through our form provider. The full details are in the privacy section.
