Enter the maximum allowed size. “200 KB” means the downloaded JPEG will be at most 200 × 1,024 bytes; it need not be exactly that size. If a form uses decimal KB, choose a slightly lower limit.
The tool adjusts JPEG quality and, if you allow it, image dimensions. A width setting is a maximum, not an instruction to enlarge the original. Tiny targets cannot preserve every detail.
JPEG output does not preserve the source’s transparency, animation or original metadata. This version handles one image at a time; HEIC and batch conversion are outside this first version.
What does Image Fit do?
Image Fit is a free image compressor with a target file-size setting. Choose a JPG, PNG or WebP, enter a maximum in KB and download a JPEG. Processing happens in your browser; the image is not uploaded.
How to compress an image to your file-size limit
Choose your image.
Select one JPG, PNG or WebP from your device. The input limit is 20 MB and 40 megapixels.
Enter the file-size limit.
Type 200 for a 200 KB target, 100 for 100 KB, or another limit. Add a maximum width if required. Leave Allow smaller dimensions on when reducing pixel dimensions is acceptable.
Compress, inspect and download.
Click Make it fit. Check the reported size, dimensions and image preview. Download JPG when the result is ready, then check that your form accepts it.
When this tool helps
An application form rejects your photo
Enter the form’s maximum file size instead of guessing JPEG quality. If the form also specifies pixel dimensions, set a maximum width and inspect the final size. This tool does not crop or validate passport-photo rules.
An email attachment or web image is too large
Use a smaller KB target for one photo or screenshot. Lower limits can blur text or fine details. Keep your original, and inspect the fitted image before sending it.

How do I compress an image to 200 KB or 100 KB?
Choose the image, enter 200 or 100 in Maximum file size (KB), leave dimension reduction enabled if suitable, and click Make it fit. The tool adjusts JPEG quality and may reduce dimensions. Inspect the reported output size before downloading.
Does 200 KB mean exactly 200 KB?
No. It is a maximum target of 200 × 1,024 bytes, not an exact size. If a form uses decimal KB, choose a slightly lower target, such as 195 KB for a 200,000-byte limit.
Can I reduce a PNG or WebP below the limit?
Yes, supported PNG and WebP images are converted to JPEG. The output is JPG; transparent areas become white. It does not create a smaller PNG or preserve transparency.
Can I compress without losing quality?
JPEG compression is lossy. The tool searches quality settings and can reduce dimensions to meet the target. Very small targets may lose detail or be impossible under your chosen settings; check the preview and any error message.
Are HEIC, animated images or batch compression supported?
This version accepts one JPG, PNG or WebP image at a time. It does not support HEIC or batch processing, and JPEG output does not preserve animation or original metadata.
Is my photo sent to a server?
No. The browser reads the selected image locally and creates the JPEG on your device. UnjamKit does not upload the image or store a copy. Downloaded files remain subject to your browser and device settings.
